TechTransBalt Ltd. is a special purpose vehicle of the University of Gdańsk, established on the 5th of June 2014 (Repertory A No. 678/2014), pursuant to Art. 86a sec. 1 Law „On Higher Education” of the 27th of July 2005, ie OJ. from 2012, pos. 572, as amended, with the National Court Register number: 0000517310. All the shares in the Company’s share capital (fifty shares of the value of PLN 100.00) were acquired by the University of Gdańsk.

According to the provisions of the act, TechTransBalt as a special purpose vehicle is responsible for the commercialization of scientific research and development work, in particular the acquisition of shares in companies or the creation of capital companies, which are established to implement the results of research or development work carried out at the University of Gdańsk. The company’s tasks also include the service of commissioned research, addressed to UG researchers (laboratory analyzes, reports, etc.).

Based on the agreement with the University of Gdańsk TechTransBalt Ltd. took charge of the management of the dedicated space located in the former building of the Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology at ul. Kładki 24 in Gdańsk, implementing a policy of renting and accessing laboratories for companies working on innovative projects.

The Technology Transfer Office of the University of Gdańsk (TTO UG) operates on the universitywide level, combining science with the economy therefore provides services, advisory, information, training and promotion to the UG scientific staff. The main task of the TTO UG is the commercialization of the research results and development work performed at the University of Gdańsk.
