In 2016, the University of Gda\u0144sk in cooperation with 11 partners from Europe, the USA and Brazil received a grant under <\/span>Horizon 2020 Program<\/b> for the project called <\/span>STARBIOS 2 Structural Transformation to Attain Responsible BIOSciences<\/b>. Within the structures of the University of Gda\u0144sk participants in this project are: Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG & MUG and Technology Transfer Office UG.<\/span><\/p>\n The idea behind the project is to develop and implement in selected research institutions conducting studies in the broad field of biological, chemical and biotechnological sciences individual action plans, enabling structural changes in responsible research and innovation areas.<\/span><\/p>\n [\/fusion_text][\/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ layout=”1_3″ spacing=”” center_content=”no” hover_type=”none” link=”” min_height=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_position=”left top” background_repeat=”no-repeat” border_size=”0″ border_color=”” border_style=”solid” border_position=”all” padding=”” dimension_margin=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=”” last=”no”][fusion_text]<\/p>\n Since 2016 the University of Gda\u0144sk has been a partner in the <\/span>ALLIANCE<\/b> project financed by the <\/span>INTERREG BSR<\/b> program. The project gathers partners from the Baltic Sea Region involved in the so-called blue biotechnology matters. The ALLIANCE project combines the competences of institutions from 10 European countries: Germany, Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Denmark, Lithuania, Latvia, Portugal, Great Britain and Poland.<\/span><\/p>\n The project is based on the cooperation of research institutions, laboratories, technology parks and companies, which will provide broad access to knowledge, infrastructure and services necessary to develop innovative products based on marine resources. At the University of Gda\u0144sk the project is being implemented by the <\/span>Faculty of Oceanography and Geography<\/b>, the <\/span>Intercollegiate Faculty of Biotechnology UG & MUG, BRC Gda\u0144sk <\/b>and the <\/span>Technology Transfer Office.<\/b><\/p>\n [\/fusion_text][\/fusion_builder_column][fusion_builder_column type=”1_3″ layout=”1_3″ spacing=”” center_content=”no” hover_type=”none” link=”” min_height=”” hide_on_mobile=”small-visibility,medium-visibility,large-visibility” class=”” id=”” background_color=”” background_image=”” background_position=”left top” background_repeat=”no-repeat” border_size=”0″ border_color=”” border_style=”solid” border_position=”all” padding=”” dimension_margin=”” animation_type=”” animation_direction=”left” animation_speed=”0.3″ animation_offset=”” last=”no”][fusion_text]<\/p>\n Since 2017, the TTO UG team has been implementing the Innovation Incubator+ project (interdisciplinary project of the Science and Higher Education Minister within the framework of the non-competition activity „Support of research management and commercialization of R & D results in scientific units and enterprises” implemented within the framework of the Operational Program Intelligent Development 2014- 2020 (Action 4.4).<\/span><\/p>\n The budget of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education program amounted to 50 million PLN, and 3 750 000 PLN was allocated to a consortium of the Tri-City universities:<\/span> the Gdansk Technical University, the University of Gda\u0144sk, the Gdansk Medical University and the special purpose vehicle of the Gdansk Technical University – Excento Ltd.<\/span><\/p>\n The funds to be spent in this project will be mainly used for pre-implementation works in the field of research and development. <\/span>Within this work additional laboratory tests will be performed to bring the results of research and development works closer to the commercialization, additionally analysis and reports will be prepared. The inventions will be scrutinised for their business potential and implementation readiness. Moreover, valuation of industrial property rights required to develop commercialization projects will be performed.<\/span><\/p>\n
